Biology 130 is a one semester course for students enrolled in the Diploma program and it follows the Biology 110 course presented during the first semester. Emphasis will be placed on further learning, understanding and using key biological concepts to encourage critical thinking and observation. The study of modern biology is not only a matter of assimilating factual information but it is key that students use that information for problem-solving, posing hypotheses and interpreting experimental results. The lectures will examine key concepts and discussions will allow the student to more fully investigate these. In the laboratory, students will use the scientific method and apply a number of the concepts from the lectures to carry out the various exercises.
