Vegetable Production and Agronomy
AGR 360 is a diploma 3rd year Work Integrated Learning module. This course integrates theoretical agronomic principles with workplace-based experiential learning, allowing students to evaluate real production systems and apply best management practices critically. As this is a final year module in this programme, students are expected to synthesise and apply all knowledge from the list of core modules, such as AGR 110, 140, and 220.
Key areas of focus:
- For WIL field production:
1. The situation evaluation of the production area and unit(s) / practices,
2. The utilisation and preparation of soil, propagation material, crop establishment, and care,
3. Nutrient management, weed, pest, and disease control
4. Harvesting, packaging, and marketing
5. Mitigation strategies and implementation of climate change, pollution, and theft issues
- For WIL tunnel production:
1. The evaluation of the production area and unit(s),
2. The ideology of controlled environment, Preparation before cultivation, Cultivation, Different cultural techniques in the tunnel industry,
3. Cultivation of the crops, and harvesting, packing, and marketing of produce.
4. Fertigation/Nutrient management, weed, pest, and disease control
5. Mitigation strategies and implementation of climate change, pollution, and theft issues
- For WIL Post-harvest Handling & Marketing:
1. Situation evaluation of the post-harvest and market area and agency, including industry overview
2. Work of the agency
3. Training, Research, and Collaborations
4. Sustainability and Environmental management: Challenges and Solutions

Vegetable Production and Agronomy
The module addresses the influence of the environment on greenhouse vegetable production and addresses the cultivation of various vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers) under controlled conditions. It also addresses seedling production
